Psw-Appeal-Qualification-Postgraduate Diploma

Post by Miss sushi » Mon Jan 12, 2009 8:13 pm

Hi guys
I does not send my application yet for PSW but am prepared to appeal because of my university's stupid mistake eventhough it is on top 10. Rediculous paper work!
Instead of qualification's title is Postgraduate Diploma, it is written as Graduate Diploma (PG DIP).
Techinically, they are the same but in the eyes of HO caseworkers, they are not, I am afraid. The fact that not all HO staff are well-trained, some are idiot. They might refuse me on the ground of qualification.

I know that I am 100% eligible but now still fingers cross eventhough I can produce evidence to support my postgraduate taught qualification.

So, if I am refused on qualification ground, will I have right to appeal. Is there any one experience that.
Will I have to pay for legal fee? Will I still work during appeal?

Is this a good idea to apply in person so that I answer to prove it.
So annoying.
Many thanks

Why don't you get a letter from the establishment that issued you the qualification stating that it is a Post Graduate Diploma? Surely a little effort to ease your concerns now is better than a long needless fight and costs later on?

Personally I think you will be ok with what you have but that is your decision.

Oh, Yes, I did contact my university to request to letter stating that Graduate Diploma (PG DIP) is Postgraduate Diploma, but, arrogant enough, they say ''it is the very common way of referring Graduate Diploma PG DIP is Postgrauate Diploma'' and they expect Home Office's staff to understand that but not all HO' staff understand that common initial

They refused to issue a letter for me because I meet all academic requiremnts and the university's international adviser patronise me '' don't worry''.
But just God knows , HO's caseworkers might doesn't see that way.
Just fingers cross,
