Visa

Post by Ajad » Thu Jul 03, 2025 4:37 pm

Hello, new member here.

I would like some information regarding spouse visa. I want to bring my wife over from bangladesh. The income requirement is £29k, I'm wondering if that is a single person income or is it a household income. I don't earn that much and I never will be able to. Now that my daughter has turned 18 and not in education anymore would I be able to show her wages aswell when she starts working. I have an 11year old son with me who is also missing his mother. What are my options?

Thankyou in advance for any information.

For the initial visa, the salary requirement is for that of the sponsoring British citizen spouse. After the spouse arrives in the UK, the combined income of both spouses can be taken into account.

I am not sure if the income of the children can be taken into account in the latter case. I doubt it, but I am not sure. Wait for others to advise further.

You may want to look at getting a higher paying or a second job. I believe that you can show a combined income from multiple jobs. But again, I'm not sure on this point. Wait for others to advise on this point.

Spouse visas are exactly what they are. You're (she's) fully dependent on your spouse. No one else can help with the income requirement.

What if the child decides to go rent a house 1.5 years down the line. That income isn't part of that family pot anymore. Child might just about be surviving on their income with nothing to spare towards supporting any parent.

Just the reality of these things.
No sin in failing, you just have to try and try again!
