Evisa status confusion.

Post by ray_of_li » Thu Jul 10, 2025 1:09 pm

Hi guys,

Wanted to ask a question. I got ILR in Feb this year 5 year spouse root. The status on the evisa says "Settled". I just noticed on someone else's post it says it says the status as "Settlement , also known as indefinite leave to remain".

Is my status correct or do I need to get it fixed?

Thanks

Settlement, Indefinite Leave to Remain and settled are all synonyms as you've read in other posts. No need to fix anything.

Ok, So I presume ILR due to my route (5 years spouse) it would always say the status as "Settled" on evisa?

Many thanks

I don't think UKVI use different names for ILR depending on the visa you had. Others might comment on this.

Being "settled" means that you have ILR (or settlement). They use all these words interchangeably. The word they use on the eVisa portal shouldn't be a concern as long as the status corresponds to your current situation.

Thank you for your reply. I was concerned as a lot of countries on top of sharecode require a print out of the evisa. So if it's different or incorrect I was worried I might have issues while travelling.

Thanks

This is the last thing you need to worry about.

Settled, settlement and ILR mean the same, no issues with having any of those on the eVisa status.

Ok as long as it's a known status and not something incorrect I won't be worried aswell.

Thank you for putting my mind to ease. Have a nice day :)
