proposed ILR changes and impact on naturalization

Hi,
I recently went through the link https://www.citizensadvice.org.uk/immig ... ffect-you/
which basically states that if the proposed extension for ilr is implemented, then those currently on ILR and applying for naturalization will need to show 10 years of being UK resident. Somewhere in the threads here i read that the proposed ilr extension can be done via statement of change but the naturalization rules needs changes to nationality law which may take >2 years to come to effect. Isnt this contradicting what citizen advice is stating.

The proposals are still at the "White Paper" stage and still need to be evaluated. All we can do is wait for draft details to be published. Normally changes are not applied retrospectively.
ILR and other immigration regulations are changed via Statutory Instruments. You are right, changes to primary law can take time to pass through parliament and implementation. At this time nothing has changed.
