Accomidation requirement

Post by bnsrinivas » Wed Jul 30, 2025 4:22 pm

I am applying for a spouse visa for my wife and our 7-year-old child. I am living in a single-bedroom flat with a living room. Could someone let me know if this meets the accommodation requirement for a spouse visa?

Thanks in advance.

For a UK spouse visa, the applicant and their spouse must demonstrate they have adequate and suitable accommodation that meets specific requirements. This means the accommodation must be safe, large enough to avoid overcrowding, and comply with public health regulations.
In the UK, a one-bedroom property is generally considered suitable for two people, typically a couple, or a single person plus a child. However, the specific number of people allowed to live in a one-bedroom flat or house can also depend on factors like the size of the rooms, local council guidelines, and whether the property is privately rented or social housing.
You might be needing a 2 bed.
No sin in failing, you just have to try and try again!
