Backing up a utility bill with a payment receipt from spouse for Citizenship application?

Post by Corkyboy » Mon Sep 08, 2025 11:59 am

Hello,

Sorry to bother you.

A few years ago, my wife (who will apply for citizenship soon) and we both took a house share in another part of Ireland when we relocated when I got a new job. We have since relocated to another part of Ireland.

We have a few electric and gas bills from that year that are in the names of the main guy renting the house and my wife's name.

If I paid the guy for rent via MY bank app will that be acceptable for her application if I provide screenshots of my rent payments as back up to prove we lived there, along with the electric and gas bills in his and her names?

Many thanks for any help.

I should have added that we don't have a bill in her name for 2020, but she has continuos bank statements for that year, so wondered whether my electronic rent payments to the guy would help her regarding this year?
