Help! Can over 70's on visitor visa receive medical in the UK for free

I really need help with my Dad application form for UK Family visitor visa. My Dad has been coming to the UK over the course of 5 years.

Last year, he undergo on emergency eye surgery on NHS through optician referral. After the surgery, i asked for the bills, and i was told because he is over 70 years. He doesn't need to pay.

I was discussing this with one of my friend and he said they will refused him.

My problem now is that i wanted to renew another five years for him, do i need to declare this on the form and what are the chances of him getting refused?

Did you tell them that he was in the UK on a visitor visa?

Hospital stay and care and operations will almost certainly be chargeable for your father, at 150% of cost, no matter what his age.

And unpaid bills over £500 have to be notified by the NHS trust to the Home Office and can be grounds for refusal of future visas.

Check with the NHS trust that manages the hospital about any outstanding bills for your father and settle them.

Yes, because they are doctors/nurses/hospital admin, not immigration officers. They are not expected to know and I suspect neither do they think it is their role to deal with immigration matters.

Contact the Overseas Visitors Team (or similarly named team) at the NHS trust that manages the hospital that your father was treated at and check if any charges need to be paid.
