Due for indefinite leave?

Post by Efficasy » Tue Sep 23, 2025 12:03 pm

Hi all,

I have read through the forum and gather some really useful information but I do have a yes/no question.
From what I have read I should be due for ILR but wanted to check this.

Background
- 2014 - granted 2.5yrs family life
- 2017 - applied for 5year partner route, HO decided to grant 2.5yr under 10 yr partner route. Solicitor advise me to challenge it, but it wasn’t a wise financial move at the time. So I accepted the decision and moved on with life.

- 2020 - applied for further leave (partner route), Covid delayed but eventually HO switched me 5yr partner route and granted 2.5yr
- 2023 - HO granted further 2.5yr partner route - no mention of 5 year, just says: Your application under the Partner (FLR M) route of the Immigration Rules has been successful.

I’m I correct that I should be going for FLR later this year when I am due apply? Nothing has changed in my family, financial and all other aspects.

Also do you recommend using a lawyer or is this as straight forward as FLRM (that i have managed to complete myself in the past).

Thanks

There is no need for a lawyer. SET(M) is the correct application form and you need to meet the same finical requirements as before
