ILR qualifying period start date

Post by skanumet1 » Sat Aug 30, 2025 10:38 pm

Hi Team,
I have switched from ICT to skilled worker visa in 2021

1. I submitted my Skilled Worker visa application online on 07 April 2021, from inside the UK,I have the IHS and application fee confirmation for this date.
2. UKVI biometrics submitted & Skilled worker visa application approved on the same day 05 May 2021
3. My Certificate of Sponsorship (CoS) stated a start date of 15 July 2021, which is also the day I began working for my sponsor.

Question:
Can I submit my ILR application 07 April 2021 +5 Years - 28 day (e.g March 2026)?

Can I apply ILR for my family members as their dependent visas approved along with my skilled worker visa? if not when is the ILR qualifying period start for the dependents?

Yes, you can all apply together. I assume your spouse has more than 5 years as your dependant partner, given you were under ICT rules

Clarification Regarding Incorrect SOC Code on Certificate of Sponsorship

Post by skanumet1 » Wed Oct 29, 2025 9:04 pm

Hi Team,
I wanted to seek your advice regarding a potential discrepancy in my Certificate of Sponsorship (CoS) details. When I changed my employer in May 2022, my new employer appears to have entered the SOC code as 1136 (“Information technology and telecommunications directors”). However, the Job Type / Summary of Job Description correctly reflects my actual role, which aligns with SOC 1137
Could you please advise:
Whether this discrepancy between the SOC code (1136) and the job description (which corresponds to 1137) could have any impact on ILR?

when I checked now SOC code 1136 identifies Human Resource Managers and Directors

The Standard Occupational Classification (SOC) codes assigned to each role have been simply updated from the 2010 codes to the 2020 codes, so your old SOC and the new 2020 SOC should effectively refer to the same role/title. You should use the equivalent 2020 SOC to determine your salary requirement for ILR. Enter your job title on the CASCOT occupation coding tool to find out the correct SOC 2020.
