I’m a bit confused about my status and would love some advice or experiences from anyone who’s been through something similar.
* I came to the UK on a **Student visa** for a 3-year degree (entered Sept 2022).
* My visa/eVisa shows an expiry of **Nov 2026**.
* I finished my course this year.
* In **July 2025**, while still on my Student visa, I applied to switch to be a **dependent** — it was **refused**, and I submitted an **Administrative Review (AR)** in time (late June 2025).
* In **Oct 2025**, my university emailed saying they’d reported my completion and that UKVI will curtail my Student visa soon, but I’ve **never received any curtailment letter**.
* AR processing is supposed to take 6–12 months, so I’m still waiting.
Now I’m wondering:
1. Am I still protected under **Section 3C** leave while the AR is pending?
2. Can UKVI actually curtail my Student visa during this time?
3. When the AR is decided, does my visa end *immediately,* even though the printed expiry is 2026?
4. Will I still be able to apply for the **Graduate (Post-Study Work) visa** after the AR decision, or do I have to apply right now?
5. Has anyone in a similar situation actually received a curtailment letter while an AR was pending?
I don’t want to withdraw my AR or travel, just want to make sure I’ll still be eligible for the Graduate visa later and that UKVI won’t suddenly cancel my visa.
Any experiences or advice would be really appreciated
@CR001 any advice?
