FLR(FP) Application time

A friend of mine got her decision yesterday for her third renewal. It was Approved! She did fee waiver in October 2024 and fee waiver was granted about 10 days later. She submitted application same October and got her decision yesterday. I guess they kept to their 12 months waiting period. Hopefully people waiting for one year already will soon hear good news!

just thought to post good news here for anyone waiting.
I'm a birtish citizen who is married (and we have a british daughter) to an asylum seeker who's asylum claim was denied. We were desperate to get him status after a few horrible asylum solicitors.
We hired a very good solicitor for his flr fp. We sent a huge number of documents with the flr fp application(pictures, written statements, letters of recommendations, medical reports) explaining how he had established a life in the UK and how devastating it would be for our daughter and myself if he were to be removed.
The wait was the hardest part, so thought to write this to give some of you with complex cases some hope! HIS FLR FP HAS BEEN APPROVED.

biometrics: February 28th 2025

@Vini Yes its normal not to get updates on fee waiver application. I applied through lawyer for fee waiver and there was no updates till the grant waiver email after 7 months. But that was 2024.

New visa start on approved day but 10 years start on first visa day approval

My husband applied FLR FP private life - partner on 3rd Dec 24 still waiting decision. Any idea what I can do. Have complained twice got the generic answer it takes up to 12months. Also spoke to MP they said wait for 3months (this was said in Oct). Just feel really anxioud and depressed that our life has stalled until his visa decision comes so we can do family planning etc.

Your husband will most likely get decision end of this month or next month. It's becoming common now that people are getting decision at the 11th,12th or 13th month from the date of application. Please remember to let us know when the decision comes out. Wish you all the best!

Does anyone understand the new statement of changes introduced today 11.11.2025, the suitability requirements. Being an overstayer before flrfp was granted could result in refusal?? For example student visa rejected resulted into refusal 2009 , first flrfp granted 2016. Child is now British based on being born here and having lived here all their life. 10 years lawful residence will be 2026 july on flrfp

Hi everyone. I just wanted to share some good news to lift your spirits, especially for those who are still waiting for a decision.
I came to the UK in 2005. I overstayed my visa and spent 15 years under immigration control (applying, waiting, refusals, appeals and repeating the cycle again and again) till 2015, when I was granted leave to remain (10-year route). At the time my partner and children had indefinite leave to remain.
This is my second extension:

• Previous leave expired 20/8/25
  Submitted the application on 9/8/25 (paid nearly 5K between fees, NHS and solicitor)
  Biometric on 16/8/25 (I had to pay to get an early appointment)
  Leave granted on 20/11/25 till 2028 as a partner on the family route (British partner and 3 British children)

I have to apply for a 3rd extension, which will last only 18 months before I'm eligible for the ILR, that is, if the laws don't change by then and we end up waiting for another 20 years

To be honest, I was not expecting them to respond before 12 months and I convinced myself to forget about it till then. Receiving the approval email today was a lovely surprise. I wish you all the best and I hope you all get your positive outcomes very soon.

Mine took 2 and half years. It was the granted date that they used so I was saved the fees for another renewal. I could still work as I had applied in time
