Referee for Child MN1 application

Post by spalai89 » Sat Feb 14, 2026 10:57 pm

Hi everyone,

We have recently received my wife ILR and we want to go for our UK born child's naturalisation using MN1. We have few queries regarding it.

1. Professional referee - since child only started going to pre-school, we are not sure who should we reach out for this one?
2. Is there any list of required documents to support the application?

Regards,

Refer to the MN1 guidance for referees >>> https://www.gov.uk/government/publicati ... n#referees <<< Note that teacher/health workers are often reluctant to act as referees, so other professionals could be used.
Also refer to the referee form format >>> https://visas-immigration.service.gov.u ... on_MN1.pdf

2. Is there any list of required documents to support the application?
Refer to this page of the MN1 Guidance for details of documents required for child >>> https://www.gov.uk/government/publicati ... #documents.
