Main applicant holds ILR & depedant on SW route.

Post by AJ001 » Tue Apr 28, 2026 4:00 pm

I was on the skilled worker route and received ILR one week ago. My wife is on the skilled worker dependant (SWD) route and will be eligible for ILR in July 2027. I intend to extend her visa on the same route (i.e., not switch to the dependent of a settled person, to avoid resetting her qualifying period). My question is

1. When completing the SWD form, where it asks whether the main applicant holds permission as a Skilled Worker, should I answer “yes” based on my previous Skilled Worker status, or “no” given that I now hold ILR?

2. If I say yes to a skilled worker for the main applicant, the form requests the main applicant’s visa end date (which requires calculating IHS). As I now hold ILR (with no expiry), how should this be completed?

3. The form also asks for the main applicant’s UAN. Should I provide the UAN from my previous Skilled Worker application (CoS validity is April 2027), or the UAN from my ILR application?

Thank You

1. The answer is yes.

2. Visa end date is three years in the future (possibly minus one day, to aid in the 3-year IHS calculation).

3. Either UAN should be ok.
