Maintenance Fund Query

Hi,

I have a small query regarding Maintenance fund. I am applying for HSMP (Tier-1) once again as my present Visa is going to expire on 7th March.

As GBP 2800 minimum should be there in your Bank account at any time in last 3 months. As per my understanding, FD is also allowed to show as Maintenance fund (Can anyone pls confirm).

I have a FD or Rs. 200000 in my HDFC Bank Account and my wife has a FD of Rs. 50000 in her IDBI Account (which is actually our joint account).

So, can I show Rs. 200000 + Rs. 50000 as Maintenance fund by getting a letter from Bank that I am having a FD Account in their bank for last 3+ months and the value of FD is Rs. 200000.

Similarly my wife can also get the same letter from IDBI Bank and the value of both FDs will be much more than 2800.
