Skilled worker dependent short of 3 days for ILR

Post by RamanM » Fri Jul 24, 2026 11:46 pm

I'm on the Skilled Worker route. My wife and child moved onto Skilled Worker dependant visas about a month after I switched onto mine. Before that, we were all on ICT (Intra-Company Transfer) visas for 2 years.
I'll qualify for ILR first, under the Skilled Worker route. My wife and child, however, will have completed only 4 years, 11 months, and 3 days of continuous residence on the dependant route when their current leave expires which will be 3 days short. Dates are below for my deprndents
Visa grant date 16 nov 2021
Expiry date 17 Oct 2026
Once I have ILR, what are their options? Is a 3-year dependent visa extension the only route before they qualify for ilr , or is there any alternative for such a short gap?
Has anyone been in this situation?
Thanks in advance!

The route of the dependant visas do not matter. You all qualify together

See: viewtopic.php?t=359098#p2206692

Also, you do not need to complete 5 years to qualify for ILR as the 28-day concession applies.
