Start up companies will generally not be granted work permits of more than 18 months duration;

This is what www.workpermit.com site states.

So a company who has recently filed their latest audited accounts for the first time cannot submit WP application for more than 18 months for anyone!

If yes how long is this restriction for ?

Hello Chris,

This has been like this for some time now I think. The reason I say this is because the company I am working for now was a start-up company. When I joinded 3,5years ago I was employee no.4 and they were only 1 month old at the time. I only got a 18 months work permit then and had to get an extention after the 18 months. This wasnt a problem because we have a very good HR person.

Now to answer your question, the company I worked for had asked the same question and was told that after a year of trading and proving that they are trading successfully this will be lifted. Well that was then and this is now so I dont know if anything has changed since that statement was made.

I hope this helps.
