hello,
I am from algeria,and leave in norway,have the permanent residense here,I want to move to belgium to work and to married with the father off my child hwo dont have any papers in belgium,he is illigall!!
what can I do???do i have the right to marry me in belgium with a permanent residense from norway??
please help me or give me the number off the immigration in begium to talk to them.

Having permanent residency in Norway as a non-EU citizen will not give you any rights in Belgium. Norway is part of the Schengen-accord but not a member of the EU.
You either should aquire Norwegian citizenship, which will give you the right to move to Belgium, and then clarify your friends status by marrying him. As a Norwegian citizen you can exercise EU-treaty rights in Belgium and as such the fact that he is illegally in Belgium should, at least in theory not matter. Or you need to inquire with the Norwegian authorities how to get him into Norway, which also may be easier once Norwegian citizenship is aquired.

Do you have permanent residency in Norway, or simply a residence permit?

Yes, I read that just fine, thank you. I wanted to clarify because some people write that they have permanent residency when they only have a residence permit (and I have seen it several times on the board).

Another question for amaouche - how long have you lived in Norway?
