a work related question

Post by mmk » Wed Jan 21, 2009 12:20 pm

Hi all,
i have recently finished my studies from a reputable uni. and got my final results last week. I cannot apply for the PSW due to funds but will certainly do in next 2 months. I have a question can i do legally full time work in this period as my education is finished. Any quote to official HO docs will be really appreciated. Does employers have problem with this kind of situation.

Thanks and Kind Regards,
mmk

I was informed by my university's immigrations adviser, who got the information directly from UKCISA, that you are allowed to pursue full time work (I had the same problem as you are having now so I asked about it). However, it must not be a permanent position and any contract you sign or commitment that you make must not extend beyond the expiry date of your student visa. UKCISA addresses this question here:

Hope that helps! :)

Yes you can work full time in these months as student visa is normally given for 2-3 months extra after finishing your degree........there were lots of posts on this forum or search on ukresident.com forums........employers wont have any problem with it except you can only work for temp jobs.....

anyway off to save my sister in her see through pajaymas from HO
