CONFLICTING FRENCH LAW ON CITIZENSHIP THRU MARRIAGE!?!?

Post by GEOFFRO » Thu Jan 22, 2009 11:02 am

Hi,

I'm an Australian married to a French national for 8 months now. I wish to get the French Citizenship as soon as possible. I have found 2 conflicting official documents on 2 separate French government websites with regards to attaining French nationality thru marriage...

http://www.diplomatie.gouv.fr/fr/les-fr ... index.html

and

http://web.archive.org/web/200308111351 ... TR205.html

the first says wait 4 years and the second says only 1 year!!

Can anybody shed some light on this curious discrepency?

Many thanks,
Geoff

Being from web.archive.org and not from the current official page this information may be only of historical value. vosdroits.service-public.fr seems to have been moved to http://www.service-public.fr/. What does it say there?
