Urgent - SBI & ICICI Bank Statements - Without LOGO

Post by krishna.sukasi » Mon Feb 02, 2009 10:58 am

Hi,

Issue 1(Fund Maintainance): have been maintaining 2800GBP in SBI Bank.

But when I requested for 3month statements, they provided me with the below

1. Without LOGO
2. Printed on a normal paper
3. Sealed and signed.

Not sure whether it will create issue?

Did anybody get statements from SBI bank. If so please provide some info if this is how they provide the stmts or should i check with other braches.

And can i get the statement from anybranch (within the same state where i have an account)

Issue 2 (PrevEarnings) : I have my salarly account with ICICI.

But they provide statement which doesnt have a LOGO on the statements(Signed and Stamped).

When I told them that logo is must. They said..they will jus provide a letter stating tht I hold a salary account with them. Will that suffice?

Thanks in advance

this is what the guidance says
The personal bank or building society statements should clearly show:
the applicant’s name;
the account number;
the date of the statement;
the financial institution’s name and logo;
transactions covering the three month period;
that there are enough funds present in the account (the balance must always be at least £2,800 or £800, as appropriate).

Will they sign them and officially stamp them to confirm their authenticity?

I have an account with ICICI Gurgaon branch and they gave me (without any problem) the following on laser printer with A4 size page -

- Last 5 months statement(as I maintained funds for 5 months in total) on their letterhead (not in color though)- Stamped and signed with date of print.
- A letter with-> their logo in B&W, branch address, my name, A/C number, date of statement with the mention of lowest balance in INR in last 5 months- Again stamped and signed.

ICICI charges 112 Rs/ for duplicate statement and 56 Rs/- for minimum balance letter(this was what was deducted from my account). They already knew such statements are sometimes required so they gave me these without much problem. I also asked for a contact person to whom the officials can call and check whether I have an account etc etc.. To this they initially detested that there is no such contact but when I asked again they gave me the contact details(including personal cell phone of the branch operation manager).. just fine I thought:)..

My advise -
1) Take an application to the bank mentioning since when u r a customer, whether u have a gold/silver etc kind of account, that u never defaulted on credit card payments etc etc..
2) try getting a copy of such a bank statement from urs friend who got such letters (even if they got it from other banks).
3) mention the fees etc I told you above so that they know that such services are indeed provided and it is not something special u r asking(after all u r paying them for the service!!).
4) Be polite(Works wonders).. Let them be slightly angry.. after all they have such busy jobs.. but talk in the same tone and they will give you what u want the way u want..

all da best

This really worked for my initial HSMP approval in 2007. It should not be a problem. But as per the guidance notes, please get it clarified by sending a email to Home office.(the rules keep on changing now and then and the discretion depends on the case worker mind)

Finally after requesting the ICICI people, I cud get the statements printed on their paper with ICICI log (blank & White) and a letter stating that my sal is credited into this account from XYZ Company and the attached statements are attested by the bank.

After requesting the SBI Bank, the Manager gave the statements on bank paper. But that fellow printed the statements on the opposite side(LOGO Is at the back) Now he not ready to give them again correctly anymore.

Now..the bankstatements are printed on bank paper, signed and stamped,
but the logo is at the back side?

Will thse statements be OK?

I submitted bank statements on normal bank stationary with seal & stamp of ICICI bank for both salary & maintenance funds.

I submitted a letter on the bank letter head mentioning the same account as that on the statement and saying that the account is in my name.

I have got my visa a month back.

if there is absolutely no chance of getting another proper statement, then ....
if the logos are in b&w and there is space left on the side where the bank printed the letter, then why not take a photocopy of the logo and superimpose on the side where the main statement is printed... in this case u will have logos on both sides which I don't think should be a big issue. be carefull and take dummy photocopies etc to be sure on where you superimpose the logo though.. also, use a good copier(new toner ink)..

I have

1. Letter from the bank stating i maintained the funds for 3months

2. Original passbook with all transactions

3. Bankstatements :printed on the back side of the bank paper(logo and name of the bank at the back) .Though bank details adress etc are on the front side..signed and stamped.

I am thinking that taking a photocopying will create issue..if sthg goes wrong and will lose..the original one also :(

Not sure whether 3 proofs (One with some issue) wll not be sufficient???

I don't think it is totally wrong.. of course it is the last step one should take and only if all other methods fail..
The statement/letter itself in this case is right and the problem is with the logo on reverse side which is b&w(doesnt even look original in the first place!!). So if the officer is not cooperating, one can take a chance, albeit as a last step..
That said, I would not have taken this small risk( I say small because I don't think BHC would cross check how the logo is printed when all else is fine in the statement) before escalating the matter to branch manager.. I don't understand why they are not giving a correct statement when they messed it up in the first place!!.. of course, the only problem is time spent in escalating etc..

@krishna.sukasi-

Friend.. u did write earlier that u got the letter and statements from ICICI bank with the logo.. why then are you bothered with SBI statements? u also mentioned 'Not sure whether 3 proofs (One with some issue) wll not be sufficient'.
hope you are not trying to show 3 proofs from 2 different banks !!!! that will definitely put you in more trouble compared to the logo being on the wrong side :).. why don't you go with just the icici statement and their min. balance letter ? b&w logo is fine, they give like that only.. i got my tier1 by submitting like this ..
you mentioned you got a 'letter' from them but it didn't mention the minimum balance, right ? you should get a min balance letter from them apart from the statements.Be carefull what they print as the minimum balance - icici bank(by default) treats the least balance on the last day of the last 3 months instead of the day the balance was lowest in last 3 months. just tell them this in advance and they will mention the correct figure in the letter.

It is not the first time

first time they gave in just normal paper(ofcourse stamped and signed)

second time..they gave on bank paper...but the logo and bank name at the backside in color and on the other side they rpinted their branch details, acount details and the statement...all signed and stamped

But isnt it that we need to provide 2 evidence

so in my case i am providing 3

1. Orignal pass book with all transactions
2. leter from the same bank on letter head saying tht i maintained the amount for 3months min.

3. bank statement singed and stamped..but name and logo and the back side

SBI has stopped...providing statmenets from other branches itseems..all the branches are again redirecting me to the branch wherhe i have the account..and tht mgr is not ready to give again

I have my salary account with ICICI

and

2800funds mainainance with SBI.

ICICI ..finally i got a letter stating that i have salry accoutn and stmts are authentic..so no more issue with ICICI

THe only issue is with SBI....details abt which i mentioned in my prev post...that i am providing 3 proofs

1.letter
2.passbook
and
3.statements with logo and bank name on the backside

I am using only one account for showing the req funds for 3months...ie..SBI

Ahh..you mentioned the purpose of two banks in the very first post.. my mistake ..i didn't notice..
why don't you escalate the matter to the branch manager.. say u will close the account if you don't get the statements etc etc.. after all whats the point having an account if they don't help you when you need them..

It is that branch manager only who the gave the printouts like that :D

and when i said..they wont accept..he says.."who is that who doesnt accept..i am g iving my stamp also..ask them to call me" -- so funny right.

so....i have no other option of getting the statment again from him.

tomorrow..i am planning to apply..and nowi don have any other option..except taking the risk :(

But my qn is still un answered....wont 2 proofs be suffficient

1. letter from the bank
2.passbook

anyhow staatement also..i will attach..but (printed on the wrong side of the bank paper) :D

Hard luck mate ..:-)..

Going strictly by the guidance, you will note that it does not ask for the passbook from the bank rather it's a 'Building society pass book' that will be considered as proof. not sure how small or big a difference this makes while applying..

I wouldn't have lost sleep over this.. the three proofs u have should be sufficient.I think BHC does not reject applications on such petty issues.

All the best..
