Working visa for Italy - non-EU with Italian spouse

Post by bikerzon » Tue Feb 10, 2009 7:40 am

Hi

Can you please help me with this? I am a Malaysian currently working in China. Me and my spouse (she's Italian) are getting married soon and thinking of moving to Italy.

I already have a job in Italy as the company that I'm currently working in have a branch office in Italy. Not sure whether this helps, but I am also holding UK working visa and also Singapore's Permanent Residence.

I do not need entry visa to enter EU, but do I need a working visa if my spouse are Italian?

What is the process need to be done?

As your spouse is Italian and you are moving to her country, you should check the requirements for a spouse visa with the Italian embassy in China. With this visa, you should be able to work.

When did you work in the UK and were you living with your spouse in the UK at that point?

You need an entry visa. Apply for a visa as "familiare al seguito", as you will be travelling together. It should be free. Your wife does not need to book an appointment at the consulate.

Get your wife to look at this site:

www.tuttostranieri.it/forum

It is in Italian.
Aiming at travelling to the UK with my wife and not with an EEA FP!
