Re-applying Tier-1- Applying Next Week

Post by giridharpn » Tue Feb 10, 2009 4:21 am

Hi,

I had once applied for HSMP and during the transitional arrangement my EC was rejected stating lack of maintainence funds. I had not maintained it for 3 days and the result was a rejection. This ahppened in June 2008 and nmy HSMP was also getting expired.
I am now planning to apply with sufficient maintainence funds. I have a lot of queries and need help from all of you in this forum. I do not want another rejection and waste 800GBP.

Query 1:Difference in name in the documents
My D.O.B cert shows my name as XXXX
My driving licence as XXXX.A.B (abbreviated initials)
My employement records and passport :XXXXAN AYYYY BYYYY (Initials expanded)
My degree certificate XXXXAN A.N(Abrreviated initials but full first name)

When I applied for HSMP,I gave these docs and the difference in name did not cause any issue.Whereas when I started reading this forum I came across rejections based on difference in names. Can you please suggest me what I should do regarding this?

Documents I plan to send:

Age:
1. Passport 2.D.O.B Certificate 3.Driving Licence (Shouldn't there be 2 proofs apart from passport for age?)

Qualification:
1.Degree certificate 2.Transcripts

English:
1. Degree Cert 2. Letter from the univ

Previous Earnings:
1. Signed and stamped (some original pay slips from the employer)
2. Tax returns filed for 2007-08, Form -16 for this year
3. Salary stack from the employer
4. Bank statements for these period to corroborate with my salary paid

Maintainence Funds:
1- bank a/c which will cover the maintainence funds
But not taking changes I'm planning to pull in 3 other bank statements as well. I have also made a day vice calculation showing the amount in each bank account.

Thanks for answering my query.
Regards,
Giridhar

General:
As far as the difference in degree certificate and employment records concers, you can get an affidavit from Notry saying that XXXXAN AYYYY BYYYY and XXXXAN A.N (and other names if any) are different names of the same person.

Age Proof:
You don't need to submit DOB or DL if you are submitting Passport as age proof. What is your name like in passport?

Education:
For 'Letter of University' you can ask issuing authority to mention your both names (name in degree certificate as well as passport) in the letter. Or, you can apply for new degree certificate with same name mentioned in there as in passport.

Previous Earnings:
In addition, you can ask your employer to provide you a letter saying that <name mentioned in employment docs> and <name mentioned in passport> are two different names of the same person. However you may not need this kind of letter if you have already obtained a letter (as mentioned in 'General' clause letter above) from notry.

Hi,
Thanks a lot. I mailed my query to the BHC as well and they came back saying they will accept if I get a notary public stating that all the change in the names point to me.
I plan to keep their e-mail along with my application.

My employment records has the same name as in the Passport. It is only the degree and I am planning to get a letter from the univ as well stating the degree certificate was issued to me the holder of this passport nd the driving licence.
But can you please tell me, shouldn;t we support 2 evidence for each proof. How come only passport is sufficient for the age?

Thanks a lot for your response.

Please see the guidance notes, you need 2 proofs for earning proof only. 1 proof for maintenance, 1 proof for age, 1 proof for english language requirement. However, providing more than one proof does not hurt.

Applying Next Week

Post by giridharpn » Fri Mar 06, 2009 1:37 pm

Hi All,
I am applying next week. This is how my covering letter would look like and these are the documents I am going to submit.
I have a few queries- Is it okay to apply for the dependent at the time of applying for the Tier-1? If I do so, is the dependent exempt from any visa fees? If the dependent's visa is free, I will include my spouse when I apply for tier-1 else I plan to state that my dependent will join me 6 months after I come to UK.

My passport expires this month 3 yrs from now. Will my Tier-1 be given till the expiration of my passport or 3 yrs from the time they stamp?

I got an email that I can submit the notarized copy against the difference in names. I have also got a letter from the Univs. This weekend I plan to get all the bank statements from the banks in their official letter heads and the IT returns-2008 and submit max by Wednesday.
If I tell them I plan to enter in June will that create a problem with respect to ther change in policy?

Kindly let me know any tips after looking into the covering letter.
I owe a lot to this forum. Thanks a Ton.
