Before continuing I think I should make it known that I've lived here (in England) my whole life but had no legal citizenship due to my parents coming to the UK illegally. Regarding the both of them, my dad currently has his ILR and my mother recently had passed her Life in the UK test (leaving myself to do the same as I'm now over the age of 18 ). Anyway I had to apply for a passport from my country late last year and recieved it before taking the test.
HOWEVER just before taking the test I realised that my date of birth was incorrect on the passport. YES I KNOW! VERY STUPID ON MY PART, you don't have to tell me
Anyway, after confirming this with the people who were in control of handling the test, two of them said that this was ammendable and so recommended that I take the test and have it fixed at a later time. My parents are worried however that this will just further complicate the process of my getting ILR especially as it was noted that all the info submitted must be accurate.
I'd like some advice on where I go from here... who do I contact about this? and would they understand the mistake made and not force me to retake the test?
Any responses would be helpful, thanks fo reading.
