Spanish Holiday Visa with Irish Visa?

Post by Jennie » Tue Sep 02, 2008 9:03 pm

Hi, I'm from China and have an independant Irish visa. I'd like to travel to Spain on holiday but I'm not sure how to go about it. How do I apply to go on holdiay to Spain? Would it take a long time to get a Spanish holiday visa? I'm not sure of where to go to get one and what I would need to bring with me? Thanks.

You will have to apply for a "Schengen"-Visa at the Spanish Embassy in Dublin.

On the given link you will find an email and a phone-number to make an appointment.

Towards the end of the page you will find a list of papers you have to bring.

The aim of the papers is to establish that you want, can and will leave Spain once your envisaged visit is up.

Good luck.

The Schengen visa says:
9. If you are visiting relatives or friends:
Official Letter of invitation available at Police Station in Spain and signed by the host. This document is only a proof of your accomodation in Spain and does not exempt the applicant from providing all the other requirements.

How could somebody living in Ireland that owns accomodation in Spain get this 'Letter of invitation'? Would they have to travel all the way to Spain to get it from the police station or is there an easier method for someone located in Ireland?

Help appreciated, thanks.
