citizenship application - fees payments issue

Post by mr_pankaj » Thu Feb 19, 2009 1:16 pm

Hello All,

I have a question. My wife applied for her citizenship (criteria: dependant of a EU citizen). She entered my credit card number for the fees payment but unfortunately due to some (stupid) reasons my credit card company blocked my card because I am abroad (in Europe) and the payment failed to go through.
I have sorted out the credit card issue and is not sure if H.O. will retry taking the payments or would it be the case that they will reject the application and she will have to re-apply ?

I tried calling them too but do not get told what will happen next.

Please suggest from your experiences.

thanks

It happens sometimes, what they normally do is that they will return your application. You'll have to re-send it.

It happened to me once, what I did was, I send them a fax to retry it. You can get your reference number through your courier service receipt, you phone the HO and quote courier reference and they'll able tell your HO reference. All you have to send a immidiate fax quoting the reference with explanation bla bla.

HI rizcom,

Thanks for your reply.

When I called them yesterday, they gave me the HO Reference Number. I can surely send them a fax today itself, but I am not sure what number should I be faxing them at ?
Would you know that ?

thanks again

Phone the same number that you phone yesterday and find out the relevant section's FAX number, and they'll able to tell you the assigned CASE WORKER for your application too.

In your case you'll have to FAX to payments team. Find out the number.

Thank you rizcom. We spoke to the Home Office and gave them the reference number of my wife's citizenship application. They have confirmed that they have ONLY posted us the payment instructions sheet to complete and resend it back to them. They have retained rest of the documents with them. So hopefully that should make the case smooth again.

thank you for all your help. Cheers
