British Naturalization question

Post by john_me » Wed Apr 28, 2004 7:02 pm

Hi,

The original passports or legalized copies after them must be sent together with the application forms, when applying for British Naturalization.

Also the applicant must be in that country at the date the application it’s received by the Home Office.

Now what happens if at a later date the passports expire and new passports are issued for the applicants.

1.
Does this require informing the Home Office ASAP (immediately by phone or by register letter)?

2.
Does this requires new legalized copies to be made and posted to them?

Please advice about these questions.

Thanks,

John

The Home Office will be expecting to see your passport covering a specific 5-year period prior to your submitting your application. What happens after that 5 year period is not that interesting to them. So, unlike informing them of changes to your address and contact details, it's not critical that you send them your new passport.
