HSMP Dependent to Tier 1 (General) Queries - Please advice

Post by Tier1_Bristol » Wed Feb 25, 2009 1:32 am

Hi All,

I am applying from Tier 1 (General) visa from HSMP next week. Have few queries, can somebody throw some light on this?

(1) Section 6.4 :Have you been granted a visa for the UK in the last 10
years? - I think this is about the dependent visa details that I need to enter. Can somebody explain what Reference number from visa need to be added here? I see that it is a 7 digit number from the Guidance. Can you explain what number it is ?

(2) 6.8 Have you made an application to the Home Office to
remain in the UK in the last 10 years? - Does this refer to FLRs or Visa?

(3) 5.1 Is your partner accompanying you or joining you later? - My hubby is already in UK and so,I selected No for this query. However, the application form has '(If single go to 5.6)'. But the guidance for 5.1 says 'If selected No, go to 5.6'. The next section is about my spouse details (5.2 through 5.5). So, I am confused here. Should I enter the details for my husband or just skip the sections as per guidance? Interestingly, as per the application form, '(If Single go to 5.6)' and 5.6 for children details :):)

(4) I read somewhere in the forum that we need to provide the tenancy letter or invitation from friend or accommodation details along with the application. Is this true?

Thanks in advance.

Cheers
Gita

The reference number should be on Right hand side top. It starts from UKXXXXXXX. This is as per my understanding and I am putting same in my application form.
Anybody, Please correct me if I am wrong.

Hi...

If you have answered NO in Sec 5.1 then move on to Sec 5.6... 5.6 is about your children accompanying you.

If you are Single, you dont need to answer anything in Sec 5.1 and straight away move on to section 5.6.... This will be the case of Single parents which is quite common now a days..

Hope this helps.

Thanks a lot mate.

Do you have any clue about the following points?

(2) 6.8 Have you made an application to the Home Office to
remain in the UK in the last 10 years? - Does this refer to FLRs or Visa?

(4) I read somewhere in the forum that we need to provide the tenancy letter or invitation from friend or accommodation details along with the application. Is this true?

Thanks again for the help!

Gita,

Point 2 - You would need to provide details of VISA / FLR if you have previously applied. From your post it appears that you are in UK on a VISA. So you would need to provide the details of it.

Point 4 - No. you dont need any invitation letter. It is required only for visiting visas. However, you can provide the details of temporary accommodation that you may have arranged in the UK for initial few days. To furnish this, you can get a letter from your friend mentioning he / she would be willing to accommodate you for x number of months and provide their proof of address (Tenency agreement, Property deed, council tax etc). This will go into other documents section.

As you mentioned that your husband is already in UK, in this case, you might as well mention this and provide details of your own accommodation here.
