MAINTENANCE FUNDS - please respond

Post by oj30 » Thu Feb 26, 2009 8:44 pm

Thanks to all who respond.

I am in a bad situation. My current HSMP runs out 26th April and few days back found out the requirement for maintenance of funds (stupid but yes unaware) and although i have had decent income into my account, it has dipped below the requirement on more than one occassion. Since I have less than 2 months left to apply, there is nothing I can do to correct it. I have 2 questions;

1. Is there any way out of it? (I have no other accounts/saving/ISA accounts, however, I have an online sharetrading account which has the funds)

2. If I apply close to 26th April, by the time they review my application and reject it, it will be May till it gets to me... will I be able to reapply considering the fact that my visa would have run out?!?! (does one get a grace period from the day the application is returned to reapply correcting the problem in the application/new application with the problem corrected)
(this is all based on the fact that i have maintained the funds since i have found out and in may i will be able to produce bank statements for march, april and may)

I will highly appreciate any input.

Thanks.

Think and remember and search for all the possible options that you can have for funds.
1. Do you have any bank account in your home country overseas?
2. Can you get a letter from the bank where you have the share trading account that the funds are instant access and can be accessed (options telephone, cheque, internet banking).
3. Do you have any joint accounts?
4. Deposits that may have a clause that you will loose the interest if you break the tie in period (letter from the bank).
5. If you do not have any of the above then better get in touch with a consultant to find other ways out.
Senior members please advice further.
