Called again today to check the status:

Date of Application: 20 Jan
Status till 5th March: Awaiting Consideration
Status Today (10th March): Awaiting Further Consideration

My assignment in UK is coming to an end and I will have to travel back in 1st-2nd week of April. I just hope I get my passport back by then

Supernova.. my case was in "Awaiting Consideration" Zone for 4days before it moved to "Under Consideration" Zone.. and 2-3days it shd take decision to be taken.. so your status shd also change soon..

Just got the update from HO that my package was sent on saturday and should receive sometime today.. I am hoping GOOD News for me in it..

Will update you guys once i get my package.. i attached SD Nextday envelop 1pm

Thanks.You had applied well in advance i guess.Mine expired on the 5th of March and I had applied on the 26th Of Jan.Still no news and I have'nt called the HO for status update..Just waiting it out...

since your 6weeks completed on 8th you shd start calling HO.. this way u willknow where ur application is placed.. ur calls shd pass through this stages
if ur application is straightforward
Awaiting consideratio for 3-4days,
Under consideration 2-3days
once it is in Under Consideration you will get your Docs back in 3-4days for sure..

This is not Standard timeframe just out of my experinece...

After a painful wait for 7 weeks , I had my turn of good news today

Application type : extension - Non JR
Application date : 21-Jan-2009
Acknowledgement letter: 22-Jan-2009
Status as of 06-Mar-2009 : Caseworker not yet assigned.
Status as of 10-Mar-2009 : Got my passport ( +1 dependant) with Visa approved for 3 years

I was surprised that the entire process just took only 1 working day for me assuming that status given by home office is correct.

Fee taken out from Credit Card: 18-Feb-2009
Acknowledgement letter recvd: 19-Feb-2009
Passports and other docs recvd: 10-Mar-2009

Other details:

- I am in 1+3+3 category and I have applied for extension under JR
- I have an indepdent IT contractor (Director of my Limited Company)
