Hello all! I've been reading these forums for quite some time now, so I figured it was time to participate. I've read quite a bit about the entire process, so i was wondering if someone could confirm my theory on a situation. I'm an American citizen currently in the US. My (soon to be) fiance is an Austrian citizen residing in Austria. We've been using the VWP for extended visits to each others countries for about two years now...a near constant movement and hassle for both of us. As she is now graduating from university, marriage has entered the picture. We would like to marry in Austria and soon after reside in the UK. I emailed the Austrian consulate to find out the proper way to enter when we have the intent to marry and they said that I could enter as a tourist, marry, and then apply for a residence permit in Austria. I've confirmed that this is possible for US citizens. Anyone have any experience with the Austrian government in this type of a situation (i.e. wait times, etc.)? Furthermore, once she found a job in the UK and we moved there, she would be exercising her treaty rights and thus I'm allowed entry, correct? Would I present our marriage certificate as evidence of this? And which form is then filled out to maintain our status in the UK...EEA2? Thanks in advance!
