earnings band

Post by lionfly » Wed Apr 01, 2009 10:10 am

My annual income is 32k from 01/04/2008 to 31/03/2009, which the company letter shows this fact.

But the bank statement I can submit in April only show transactions until 18/03, so does NOT show the payment of 31/03.

Should I only claim the band 29000-31999 ?

If I claim the 32000-34999 band, will it be refused because bank statement does not show the last payment?

Yes i am afraid.. it will be refused..
Because the 2 proofs that are MUST to be submitted in ur case are:
1. Payslips with/without employer lette
2. bank statements

so you have to think abt ur earnings band.. if not i think they will use the band you fall in (maybe again depends on he caseworker??)

I would advise that if your 29000-31999 earns you enough point then dont take the risk of going for the higher band...

As they say, better safe then sorry...

Yes I have enough points with 29000-31999 band.

Company letter and payslip both covers the 32000, but not the bank statement.

Thanks for the replies.

hi, company letter and payslips will be considered as two proofs from teh "same" source , so Bank statemennts must support that.

can u get an online statement from the internet and get it signed and stamped from bank which shows your salary credited on 31.03.09?
:-)

Or you could also ask the bank to provide an update of your current account transactions...

I think this is a good idea, for the days that are missing in ur bank statements, you can walk in and get a print out of those transactions on bank stationary, I think that should suffice your requirement..

In my case below worked.. as i was in the same situation when i applied my initial HSMP....

I went into the branch and requested them for the most updated statement. I got it signed and stamped from the branch itself as per the requirement in the guidance notes...

All the best..

Oh, so many suggestions to get an extra statement from bank!

I planned to just use the 29000-31999 band, with 85 points, 10 more than required, for being lazy.

Now with so many suggestions, should i consider the extra statement for the 32000 band, another 5 points extra?

hi Lionfly,

I think that getting the statement for missing days wont take long, given you find the right branch and right people, just a matter of few minutes...

but its not that critical since you already qualify even with a lower band...

So its upto you, if I were you I would get that extra statement...

I bank with HSBC. A quick call to customer service and they sent me the updated account info in 4 days.

Personally, I think its in your best interest to overshoot the point requirements if you can do so legally. You never know, an officer in at the home office may misread a piece of evidence - they are human too (though some may question that!).
