Jobs in Oracle/ Oracle apps DBA

Post by kantg1 » Fri Jul 22, 2005 12:01 pm

Hi All,

I am working in India as Oracle Apps DBA having overall experience of 4 years in Oracle Core and Oracle applications as a DBA. I am entitled to work in the UK and have work permit.

Does anyone know how to get the interviews being in India. The point is I do not want to move to UK without a job offer considering the job situation in the UK. Has it gotten better?? If so is it a good idea to move to UK and find jobs.

How is the job market in general and how is the job market for Oracle applications DBA. whats the pay I can expect with my kind of experience.

I would really appreciate your reepsonses.

Thanks

It would be useful to have some factual consistency in determining a way forward to include where you actually reside and what status (not necessarily visa for US) is held given this may be null. Thank you for your understanding.

Actually my situation is very complex. I have a USA H-1 visa and also UK work permit. I am about to get back to USA on an H-1 and continue applying for GC. Adding to this complexity, we both are keeping an option open in settling down in UK. My two posts are very much relavent in my case. Please understand

Thanks,

UK work permit is bound to the employer and you cannot work for any other employer with a work permit of another employer

Hi

I had a problem at Pakistan consultate for applying for H1 stamping with an HSMP stamp in my passport. I changed from student training visa to work visa in US and didn't travel later. My plan was to continue working in US till I find a job in UK. The visa officer didn't buy into this explanation and mentioned that it was employment shopping.i.e. gathering work permits.

Be careful of having a work permit stamp.

Hi,

Actually I dont require a work permit in the UK since I am entitled to live and work in the UK as a spouse of British citizen. I have a spouse Visa.
We will move to UK only if I have a firm job offer so that me and my wife can live there comfortable else we would struggle to get a job since I lack UK experience.

Please advise

Maybe you are both Tony Blair and George Bush and you just want a visa to Trinidad.
