TIER 1 QUERIES

Post by aaa123 » Sun Apr 12, 2009 12:35 pm

Hi,

I am intending to apply very soon in General category; I have a few questions:

1. I hold an MSC UK degree (1 year programme), can I present it as an evidence for English proficiency? (Please note UK online points calculator allows me to select this)

2. Can I produce Savings Account statement as proof for adequate maintenance funds.

3. I have been required to leave the UK, as a result of my work permit application rejection in the past, will I need to provide letters that I received for that or I can simply put reference numbers I have on those letters.

Thanks.
A

1. Yes, you can use this degree to claim points for english language requirements section.

2. yes, you can produce savings account statement as long as they fulfill all the criteria for the maintenance funds requirement

3. Its alright if you simply put in your reference number, they would be able to pull out the records from reference number.

I would advise you to go through the guidance document before sending in your application - please note they have released a new version of policy document post rule changes -not sure how much of it is changed - but, yes do go through it very carefully.

So no need to get a letter from uni stating name and confirmation that degree was taught in english.

No, as long as your degree is shown up in the UKBA points calculator, you should be fine.

In 2007, rules for Englisg Proficiency was for Bachelors Degree(and not higher degree). But now even if your masters/bachelors meet the criteria you are fine.
