Couple of questions -
1. Can the referee and applicant live at the same address. I know they should not be related.
2. I would leave current address in two week's time.I then plan to go to stay with my friend. If I file the application next week then should I mention the new address in the form (how ? as present address ? or should I write it as additional info).
3. Can one leave country after the application has been submitted on leave / vacation ? If yes what is taken as the date of submission if the application is submitted to the checking centres (not by post). Do you need to be in country for responding to querries if any.

Using your numbering :-
- If not related, yes .... BUT ... I would say not advisable ... it might raise a time-consuming query. So I think avoid doing that if possible.
- You should enter your current address ... that is, the address that is current when you make your application ... and of course also quote your previous addresses in the space available.
- Not sure ... good question .... but I suspect no problem if you fly out straight after going to the checking service. Or put it another way, how would IND know? Going away? For how long? As regards "Do you need to be in country for responding to queries if any.", clearly the answer must be yes, but IND do not expect as instant response, so as long as they get an answer without too much delay there will not be a problem. But also suspect it is fair to say that most applications dealt with without IND needing to raise any query.

Thanks John.
1. The person is not related to me. I am moving to his place and have now already submitted application today with current address. And would have to tell IND about the change of address - but we never stayed together for past six years
2. I entered current address. Thanks.
3. I am going away for two months on vacation. During that time my address would be that of my friend as I am moving to his place now and then go on vacation. Once back I would stay in different place. Please help me - what should I convey and how to IND on the change of address.
Thanks again John.

On question 3 the application is "made" when it is received by the Home Office in Liverpool, not at the NCS. You should be in the UK when the application is received in Liverpool. If not, they may or not find out, but obviously if you have an entry stamp in another country before the application is made in Liverpool, it would be evidence that could invalidate your application.
I would advise that you delay your departure until you are sure the application is received.

Hi Joseph,
The applications submitted in NCS are sent by recorded next day 9.00 am dlv to Liverpool. I hv checked my spl dlv number given by NCS on royal mail website and it has been dlvrd to them as per the Royal Mail website. Is it sufficient proof or I need to call Liverpool office to check they have received.
Thanks.

I think that is sufficient proof. You could call them for added peace of mind.

Hi all,
My naturalisation application has been approved by HO. However, now I face another issue -
Application submitted 1st Aug
Application approved letter date 8th Aug
As said in my previous post I departed the UK after submitting the application.
I got the letter thru my friend today - I would return within next month to the UK.
The letter says I need to contact the Citizenship Ceremonies officer within 14 days but that date has lapsed now.
What option is available to me now. PLEASE HELP !!!

nothing to worry about, you will get the next group ceremony date unless you want to go for a private session..
why don't you call them from where ever you are now with all the details?

Sudeep, you do need to attend a Citizenship Ceremony within three months of getting the "application approved" letter, otherwise the offer of British Citizenship is liable to be withdrawn.
But as already said, the fact that the 14 days has expired is nothing to worry about. After all it is totally possible that someone could be away from home for at least that long on their annual holiday.
