You can apply for dependent's VISA anytime you want. Main applicant's job status does not affect dependent's application. You can apply for it if while you are jobless in UK. You can apply, while you are in your own country, as well.varghesejim wrote:Hello Mates,
I am one who benefitted from this tremendous forum for getting my Visa. Please help me to answer my query.I already have my Visa valid from june 1, and I will be travelling to UK in june first week. The original plan was to be there alone first, get a job and apply for a dependant visa for my wife.
Now we are thinking of some other possibilities. My wife also hold a professional degree in biochemistry and have chances for getting a UK job. Considering the job market now, I might take some time to get a job in UK-so we might consider applying for dependent Visa even before me getting a job. This will let my wife to come over to UK and explore the job market and she might get it before me.
My question-Do I need to apply for a dependant before me going to UK?The reason why I am asking this is, in the dependant application the main applicants job details need to be filled. If we apply for dependant before I got to UK I believe we can keep it blank. But we are not sure if we can keep it blank once I reach UK, in that case will it affect the application? If I am in UK and dont have a job, the case worker can reject the dependant visa on this ground?
I short, which way is good-applying for dependant before flying or after reaching UK(assuming not getting a job)?
As quoted above, you can apply for ur dependent visa anytime. Only important thing that you ave to be careful about is - MAINTANANCE FUNDs. As long as you hav that you are okay to apply even without job and even before you come to UK. That is the IMPORTANCE of maintanance fund - You can survive until you find a "JOB"varghesejim wrote:Hello Mates,
