EEA2 question

Post by 8lei5cid » Fri Apr 24, 2009 3:00 pm

Hi, I'm new to the forum but when i was searching online to find some hints on EEA2 application i found this fourm is very helpful.

I wonder if anyone has similar situation or who can advise me on this:

I am non-EEA and my husband is EEA (Finland Passort). He is unemployed since Jan 2009 and had been working for just over a year. So he's seeking for jobs at the moment.

I have been working within the UK for nearly 3 years on a work permit and am still working for my employer at the moment. therefore I can approve by sending my employment letter, salary slip and bank statement. If needed my husband can also send his bank statement, therefore to approve we have sufficient fund to support us.

In my case, do i just need to complete the EEA2 Section 7 (page 10) by ticking the first box "Economically self-sufficient
Evidence that your EEA or Swiss national family member has comprehensive sickness insurance and funds sufficient
to maintain you and other family members included in this application during the time they intend to reside
on this basis. If you are the worker and are supporting your EEA or Swiss family member please provide documentary
evidence of this"?

That is the tricky part: do you have private health insurance? Because that is what the UKBA expects in this case. It is probably better to include him as a worker, because work seeking falls under that category. Then you avoid the issue with health insurance.

My company has AXA private insurance for every grade of staff, will that be enought? How can i apply under him as a 'worker'? As on the EEA2 application form you are either under section'employment', or 'self-employed' or 'student' or 'economically sufficient'?

Thanks for the reply!
