Ashwin,
As far as i know, there is no way they will check your funds when you enter UK. Once you got the visa, you can transfer the funds. Go ahead.

You can transfer your funds to your own account in any other bank. The Immigration officer has full authority (which they use on their own discretion) to ascertain that you have access to sufficient funds to sustain yourself while in UK.
