Switching From Psw To Student Visa

Hi there

One of my friend is on PSW visa and he has just been offered a phd place in a reputable uni, Does anybody know can he switch from PSW to student while still within UK? or would he have to leave UK and go to his country or origin and apply from there?

Any comments would be really helpful.

You are allowed to switch from psw to student visa.

He can do it in UK.. No need to go back..
