HSMP Extension - Bank Statements Stamped - URGENT

Post by Bajwagr8 » Sun May 03, 2009 7:32 pm

Hi All,

I am applying for HSMP extension next week and I am confused with previous earning proof via bank statement.

I have recieved last 12 months bank statement from Barclays. The statement was on plain paper because it was not monthly statement. I have asked them to stamp all of these pages as well.

Do I need to get these statements signed as well?

Do I need to ask them for anything else???

I am also submitting my last 12 months payslips, P60 and letter from employer.

Your quick help and comments would be highly apperciated.

Thanks.

Tier 1 (General) Policy Guidance page 25 of 49

ii. Personal bank statements showing the payments made to the applicant:

Bank statements provided must be on official bank stationery, and must show each of the payments that the applicant is claiming.

If the applicant wishes to submit electronic bank statements from an online account he/ she should also provide a supporting letter from the bank on company headed paper confirming that the documents are authentic. Alternatively an electronic bank statement bearing the official stamp of the bank issuing the statements will be accepted. This stamp must appear on every page of the statement.

For the purposes of this guidance an online bank account is one that operates solely over the internet and sends their bank statements to their customers electronically (for example over the internet or via email).

The question is how do you prove that the account is indeed an online account

Yeah i know we already had a big debate on that. According to my perception i dont think we can send any statement other than proper bank statements...

I might be wrong but its a bit tricky...

But no one can save 12 monthly bank statements. Otherwise, bank would never give statement on their official stationary.

I hope they would understand this logic. I am going to submit stamped bank statement on their plain paper. Let's hope for the best and fingers crossed!

As per the strict interpretation of the rules, even I would tend to go by that but a number of applicants have been successful in getting approval based on other than formal bank statements.

People do keep bank statements/pay stubs for more than 4/5 years, especially when it comes to applying for VISAs/citizenship etc.

Anyways, If we disregard the "online" part of it, you seem to be in compliance with the Guidance notes.
