Can I use bank passbook instead of statements to prove salary received as my bank does not provides statements. (applying from India)

Why are you still using a passbook pretty much everyone is using statements
only old people resisted the change

I cannot find any reference of bank passbook in Tier 1 guidance notes.Logically, it make sense to provide the bank passbook. But, if you go literally by guidance notes, it may not be accepted as passbooks can be manipulated easily and not mentioned in guidance.

Can you get a letter from your bank stating deposits of your salary with dates and other details? This should work(though not mentioned in guidance explicitly).
Or can you not get print-statement from bank-signed and stamped? Many banks in India does not regularly send bank statement, but they do provide your bank statement(with stamp and signed on it) if requested.
