visa for Italy

Post by mara » Fri May 15, 2009 5:58 pm

Hi,
Please help me :)
I went today to apply for Italian visa, but they told me that l do not need because l am Family member of EEA Nationality. I told them that l am not traveling with my partner, but still they said that l dont need visa, and they cannot issue one.
I am scared that when l arrive in Italy, l will have problems passing the border.
What should l do?

Information is really confusing, because on French embassy site it says you dont need visa as long as you are traveling with your spouse if not you need to apply for the visa?

The OP wants go to Italy. The Directive is only a minimum standard. Member states can be more generous if they wish so.
