shortage occupation list

Hi there.

My partner is a chef, and i have seen that being a chef falls under the shortage occupation list.

How does this affect a switch of jobs as a current workpermit holder?

Basically it means chefs get more points, if the job is paid enough. There are transitional arrangements for current work permit holders anyway.

well what i would like to know is what are the requirements for switching to a new job?

does the job need to be advertised etc by the employer?
