Poll on "How I got my job in the UK from abroad"

I kindly bring to your attention the following poll question which aims to measure how effective getting a visa can be in facilitating further search of a UK job.

The question is addressed to those of you who succeeded in finding a job in the UK while staying and applying from abroad, and who arrived in the UK as a holder of Tier-1 visa (HSMP) or Tier-2 visa (Work Permit arranged by employer).

The question of the poll is similar to “Which came first, the chicken or the Egg?â€

-> Came to UK through work permit, later on changed the job after obtaining HSMP.

This is a very good idea, although this option will be partially covered by answer 3. So I suggest that we leave as it is for now, especially regarding the low number of voters so far.

I mean, the same question was asked on one of major Russian UK forums, and the result of the poll turned out to be a little bit of surprise. So I wonder what we gonna get here..

As I said before, the same question was asked on another forum. The votes were divided as follows:

1. I first became a holder of Tier 1 (HSMP) visa, and then I found a job in the UK - 9 (31.03%)

2. I first found a job in the UK, and then I applied and became a holder of Tier 1 (HSMP) without any sponsorship from employer - 10 (34.48%)

3. I first found a job in the UK, and then the employer helped me to arrange a Tier 2 visa (Work permit) - 10 (34.48%)
