Unmarried partner visa - urgent advice needed pleeeease

Does anyone know if it's possible to obtain an unmarried partners visa without providing the specified required documents.

We can prove we've been living together as married for 3 years but my boyfriend cannot provide any correspondence relating him to my address as it's impossible for him to get a bank account/mortgage/tenancy agreement as he's not a UK resident - bit of a catch 22

we can provide:

A tenancy agreement for our home abroad which we have rented for 3 years
Credit card bills with him being a supplementary cardholder - his transactions appear separately on my invoice
Affidavits from family and friends to say that they have known us to have been living together for 3 years
Reference from a respected Uk citizen

We will be getting married but don't relish the thought of a rush registry office do. So any advice other than marriage would be so much appreciated.

We just want to get on with our life but keep coming up against brick walls.

IMHO there is too much ground to make up on proof of subsisting relationship for an affidavit to make up on i.e. it should complement/ supplement an application not be the foundation as it will be in this case. It is not just a matter of property ownership in Egypt you must have lived there together too - your other post indicates this is not the case. Ultimatley only one way to find out and that is to apply with what you have. Good luck.

We did however, as I mentioned in my previous e-mail live together in Egypt for approx 6 months before returning to the Uk and have spent time there together since although not for longer than 6 weeks at a time.

Just one more question if you don't mind

If an appliation has been refused and the only alternative is to get married, will the fact that of the first refusal go againt us?

No, each application is considered on its own merit.
I am kind of in the same boat as you (our "hard evidence" is a bit on the skimpy side, since all my documents were lost, and while I am trying to replace them, it is proving to be difficult)...so let this forum know how you make out. Good luck!!!
