Use the points calculator. If your course+awarding institution is listed there and provides 35 points then you can go ahead. If not then get a letter of comparability (rather certificate) from NARIC and then apply.bennyzhuu wrote:Thank Sushil,
You mean the UK visa officer will treat ACCA completion as master degree then I can apply?
Have you had such experience?
He is wrong, ACCA is NOT equivalent to a Masters.bennyzhuu wrote:Thank Sushil,

Yeah u r rite ACCA is getting full 35 points....Final wrote:Full ACCA is equivalent to a Masters. I have both ACCA and MSc Finance but I used ONLY ACCA with a letter of equivalence from ACCA for my HSMP in Nov 2007 and it was successful. If you check the calculator, you will find that ACCA is indeed worth 35 points.

Sky_High wrote:ACCA is UK qualification so NARIC can not give any letter. NARIC compares oversea qualification with UK qualification.
My few ACCA affiliate friends got 35 points for ACCA qualification. Please check English requirement as some times ACCA is sufficient to claim 10 points of English language but some times it is not!
Who was the degree/certificate awarding body in your case?bennyzhuu wrote:Thanks guys.
I really got the relevant letter from ACCA,saying that completion of it is same as Uk Master. But I am not sure whether the UK officer recognise it or not.
Also I really test on the ponit-calculator system, and if you study in UK, you can find ACCA qualification, and it is really 35 points; but if you select you study in China, no ACCA shows, so is NARIC 's comparability is necessary?
Thanks.

It does because in India certain private Universities award CFA!! which is not recognised anywhere and thus the question.Final wrote:Doesn't matter - the awarding body is ACCA. The letter from ACCA is all you need (and only one acceptable anyway) and good enough for the immigration officials. It has been for many of us who have used it.

So is CFA - "CFA Institute is the global association of investment professionals that awards the CFA and CIPM designations" and you get a certificate from CFA Institute wherever you take the exam from (no longer available in India since last year). What I was trying to establish was - it is not another case of a local institute awarding a ACCA qualification (which obviously is illegal and not recognised).Final wrote:CFA is not ACCA. ACCA is the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants and is awarded by a UK professional body. You can study it anywhere in the world but the certificate, affiliation and membership is given only by the UK authority. We can go on debating this but as I have said before, many have got the HSMP visa with 35 points from ACCA and the best course of action is to get in touch with ACCA. Simple!!!
"Examinations at this stage will be set at a level equivalent to a UK Masters degree"
