New UK application forms available, updated for 2006

Post by John » Tue Aug 30, 2005 9:17 am

A page on the IND website has been updated to include links to new forms to be used as from 15th September.

You can get at that updated webpage, and thus the new forms available from it, by clicking here.

A quick look shows no change in the fees. If anyone spots any difference between the old and the new versions please post details.

EDIT NOTICE:

Please excuse my intrusion into your post, John.

I decided to keep the topic as a sticky, but edit the subject line and add a post with some information links.

I suggest we make announcements in this topic for other changes as they are announced.

SET(M) Form

Post by Marie B » Tue Aug 30, 2005 3:11 pm

Thanks for the link (am keeping an eye on SET(M) Application rules - already gathering evidence needed!). I have had a read through of the new SET(M) application form, and have noticed a few differences between the old and new versions, although the form as a whole is very similar.

In the section asking about UK partner's details it now also asks for the partner's name at birth/additional names partner has been known by and how long the UK partner has lived in the UK.

The questions pertaining to the applicant's home (rented/owned etc.) and mortgage/rental payments have been left out.

The question about criminal convictions now specifies that you should 'include traffic offences or any civil judgements'.

There is a new question in Section 6, it reads; 'Have you ever been involved in the financing, planning, preparation, commission or attempted commission of terrorist acts or in supporting acts of terrorism either within or outside the UK or have you ever been a member or supporter of an organisation which has perpetrated or supported acts of terrorism in furtherance of its aims?' (Further to new UK legislation regarding supporters/members of certain groups I guess).

There is another new question at the end of Section 6; 'Have you engaged in any other activities which might be relevant to the question of whether you are a person of good character?'.

In section 7A of the new form it asks you to submit evidence of funds to show you are able to maintain and support yourselves in the form of bank statements/pay slips, etc., to cover at least the last three months.

In the note about documents required to prove your relationship is subsisting, the guidance now reads; 'it is acceptable to provide no less than 4 items addressed to one of you and no more than 6 items addressed to the other partner during each of the past 2 years so long as they show the same address.' As opposed to the old form which stated five or six items from each partner for each of the past two years.

You might wish to delete this sticky, or at least update it to reflect the new forms available from 22 June 2006.

Good idea.

I agree our stickies can use a bit of cleaning up around here. We should keep a few and update the information in them; all members are welcome to contribute.

We posted some recent news updates on the topic of updated UK forms at WorkPermit.com recently :
