Can I marry my fiance? What to do?

Post by angie4489 » Fri Jun 05, 2009 4:05 pm

Hi. I am on a student visa (expires Oct 2010) and my fiance has a refugee status. We have been together for 3 years. We would like to marry before my visa expires. What procedures do we have to follow? Do we have to let the HO know or can we just go to our local register office and then contact HO afterwards? Please help. Thanks in advance

You have to apply for a Certificate Of Application to Marry (COA) from the Home Office first, before you can marry. Then I guess you can apply for FLR based on your marriage. All this BEFORE your current student visa expires.
