Query on ILR - Validity of company letter

Could one of you please answer my query..

I have completed 5 1/2 years in UK on work permit and I want to apply for ILR.
I got the letter from the company nearly 5 months back and it says I will be with them for next one year.
Can I use the same letter to apply for the ILR? Is that letter still valid or it is too old.

I think your letter is too old - not sure, but I seem to remember that the letter cannot be older than 1 month.

Sorry a 5 month letter with all due respect is meaningless by virtue of being too old. Get one valid within a month of your ILR application.
