Self Employed

Hello,

I'm on a student visa which was issued about 18 months ago.

When I started my course in the UK my tutors instructed us to all register as self-employed since the industry which I'm going into is mainly freelance-based. So I registered as self-employed and have been invoicing for my work as such ever since. I didn't realise until today when I happened to be looking at the next visa I'll need that I'm not supposed to be working as self-employed on my current visa.

When I registered I unknowingly violated the terms of my visa, effectivly breaking the law. Any idea what I should do now that it's been just over a year since I registered?

Ignorance of law is not a excuse

u breached terms and one solution go back take a break otherwise defantely problems are waiting for you

Yes, I'm well aware that ignorance is not an excuse, it was certainly not my intention to imply that.

I guess I was just wondering what my limited options (if any) are. A break sounds logical but wouldn't that record follow me around the next time I apply for a visa?
