EU Treaty Rights

Post by koelnman » Fri Jun 12, 2009 2:40 pm

Hello everyone.
My wife and I are not EU national.
But we have a Irish born child.
She is Irish. She has EU passport.
We are now living in Deutschland.
I have read some info about EU Treaty Rights.
It says we may get stamp4 if my girl go to school in Ireland.
info: http://www.inis.gov.ie/en/INIS/Pages/EU ... hts%20FAQs
I realy want to know does any other EU country has this treat for us?
I prefer somewhere they can speak good English.
So that my girl can easy go to Ireland when she grown up.

You can move to other EU countries on the basis of the ECJ's Chen ruling, but I think you could not move to Ireland. Unfortunately that means you would likely not be able to work and must be financially self-sufficient.

How did you get residence in Germany? Becuase of your daughter's Irish citizenship?

Thanks for your post.
I have my business in Germany.
I do want a residence permit for a reason of my daughter's citizenship.
But I do not know how to apply it, and I would like apply it from a English-speaking country.

I am not sure I understand why do you want a Residence Permit for your daughter? Do you want her to live away from you so that she learns excellent English?

She can travel in the EU and you can travel with her. If you want, you get a free visa to accompany her to the UK as often as you want. (Scotland is lovely though it is hard to understand some of the people living there).

My girl do not need permit in EU country.
But if I go to UK with her I do need VISA.
If like I want to live in UK for a long time maybe a year, I need a residence permit for me. And I could not renew my VISA in Germany after I leave Deutschland for 6 month.
That is the point. So I need a residence permit from a English speaking EU country.
